What is known about the trafficker? 30 victims of child traffickers between the ages of 8 & 17 were rescued on the border between Mali and Burkina Faso. The traffickers were two men of Bukinabe nationality living in Mali and posing as traditional healers. They convinced the parents of the youngsters to allow them to go to Mali to study the Koran, which is a common practice in the area.

Arrested traffickers at border towns
The traffickers were arrested at the border towns of Bobo-Dioulasso and Faramna while trying to sneak the children into Mali. The real intention was to sell them as plantation slaves.
