The victim's virginity was sold by her mother when she was 13 or 14 years old. The victim then went into prostitution in order to help support her mother and herself. While working as a prostitute, the victim was approached and sold to the German pimps in the Indian Ocean coastal city of Mossell Bay for $65.00. She was confined to an apartment and was not allowed freedom to come and go unless she had the German pimps' permission. She was raped by the German pimps and threatened with beatings if she tried to escape.
