Response and intervention

New York City local law enforcement, in cooperation with ICE agents, made 31 arrests. The rescued women were being held in non-detention at the time of the AP article in August, 2006. On Tuesday, August 15, 2006, New York City law enforcement, along with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, made 31 arrests in about 20 cities across the northeastern states in the US, rescuing about 70 Korean women from these brothels. Aside from the immediate efforts of law enforcement in providing the women with health care, food, clothing, and other services, there seems to be nothing else in the news since those details in the article. Local and state law enforcement and ICE seemed to be the primary care-providers.
