Her mother is not there to defend her as during the day, she is hired to work in someone else’s fields. Manee’s future looked bleak, until HE came to her village. After assessing the needs, after talk and more talk with the mother and stepfather, Manee was released into the care of HE A safe place at last for a tiny little girl with a wounded heart. That’s Manee.

Visits to village by HE staff to assess the situation. These villagers are along the Thai/Burmese border and amongst hilltribe villages that are rife with drugs, HIV/AIDS and the risk of abuse and trafficking of little girls.
When girls like Manee are identified. HE contacts the MOSW to get clearance and also has the parents sign off that the child can live in HE facilities and then go to school and if safe return to the village up to 2x a year for family visits if it is deemed safe for her to do so.
they go through counseling, art therapy, lots of care and belong to a larger family of girls in similar situations with Thai house parents.
