John France Gonzales beat and molested a 12 year old girl for four years. The abuse began in San Bruno, CA in 2002. Eventually, the girl was brought and held captive in his basement in Daly City for 18 months. She was used as a sex slave. His parents were unaware she lived there. Her parents filed a missing persons report.

Response & intervention
Gonzales was faced with 146 felony counts after his arrest in 2006. He plead no contest to 14 felony counts in exchange for the remaining 132 counts to be dropped. He was convicted and sentenced to 16 years in prison.
When the Gonzales’ home was foreclosed on in 2006, the trafficker was forced to release the girl from his basement. He moved with her back to her parents’ home in La Honda, CA. There she told her father of what had taken place.
