Trafficker was a member of a 23 member child trafficking ring. Traffickers bought children from Yunnan Province, China and sold them in Hubei Province, China. Boys were sold for 40,000 ($5,860) yuan each and the girls for 20,000 yuan each ($2,930).

Response & intervention
Suspect was sentenced to death for trafficking 31 children and causing the death of one, by the Wuhan Railway Transport Intermediate Court. Two others members of the trafficking ring (one being the suspects sister) were sentenced to life in prison.
June 2009, 29 children were rescued by Wuhan Police.
