A 38-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were arrested at a house in Rail street, Florida on Johannesburg's West Rand. It is alleged that the couple abducted a 19-year-old female who was brought into South Africa from Zimbabwe about a week ago under the pretext that she was going to be employed. The couple then demanded R1800 ransom money from the woman's brother.

Response & intervention
They arrested the abductors as a part of a sting regarding the ransom demanded by the traffickers. Upon arrest the traffickers took police to their apartment where the young woman and two other Zimbabweans were located.
A missing persons report was filed and the young woman was located as a result of this complaint.
