District Police commander Charles Rwakisheka said Nyamwize was accused of attempting to sell her six-month-old daughter. "We got information that she was trying to sell her younger daughter. She had asked Kanoweri to assist her look for the buyer and he was progressing well with the deal. So we used our detective to pretend like he was a buyer," Rwakisheka added. He said the duo was arrested at Madudu where they had met the detective to receive the money in exchange for the baby. "At first, she wanted sh7m, but as they bargained, she agreed to take sh3m. Kanoweri also wanted his share of 10%. As they waited for the money, we arrested them."
