The 16 year old girl was abducted by Mrs. Gayita and taken to another woman’s home where she was forced to work as a nanny and house girl. For the two months she worked, she was never paid. When sent to town to buy something for her trafficker, the girl came back to find her house abandoned. She contacted Mrs. Gayita asking for help, and in return her abducter took her into her home. There, she was repeatedly raped by her abducter’s husband.

Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL) provides counseling and trauma therapy for victims and gets them tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Those is need of health care are taken to treatment centers and are rehabilitated to good health. UYDEL also provides training in life-skills and vocational skills like hairdressing, tailoring, electronics, catering, welding, carpentry and plumbing. A team of trained local artisans mentors the youths into skills that will enable them to find employment and start their own businesses.
