On Saturday, May 29th, Police were tipped off about a number of women between 23 and 27 years old, who were being sexually exploited in Kempton Park. The Hawks specialized crime-fighting unit raided the brothel. The women are suspected to have been trafficked, but further investigation is occurring.

The South African woman who was operating the brothel was arrested.
The women were emancipated and removed to a place of safety. The police were looking to conduct interviews with them to determine if they were indeed trafficked into South Africa. They had only been in South Africa for less than a month.
The Hawks specialized crime-fighting unit rescued the women from Kempton Park. No information on where they are being safely kept.
