A 16 year old girl's sister’s husband promised her a good life in the city, and her continuation in school. She was instead forced to wash clothes, fetch water and cook food for the family. The husband started demanding sex from her and threatened to kick her out if she did not comply.

Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL) provides counseling and trauma therapy for victims and gets them tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Those is need of health care are taken to treatment centers and are rehabilitated to good health. UYDEL also provides training in life-skills and vocational skills like hairdressing, tailoring, electronics, catering, welding, carpentry and plumbing. A team of trained local artisans mentors the youths into skills that will enable them to find employment and start their own businesses.
