A 14 year old girl was promised school money by her aunt. When she started working for her, she was forced to carry water, care for the baby, and care for the chickens for no pay. She was often denied food and beaten.

A UYDEL worker saw her conditions and brought her to the facility.
Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL) provides counseling and trauma therapy for victims and gets them tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Those is need of health care are taken to treatment centers and are rehabilitated to good health. UYDEL also provides training in life-skills and vocational skills like hairdressing, tailoring, electronics, catering, welding, carpentry and plumbing. A team of trained local artisans mentors the youths into skills that will enable them to find employment and start their own businesses.
