Two men from the same village kidnapped an eighteen month old baby girl and used her for eighteen months for ritual purposes in a traditional shrine. They or the shrine later discarded the child in a tightly tied bag, but she was discovered and rescued at near the point of death. The two men then appeared to threaten the foster family, which led to their apprehension.

Response & intervention
Police began advertising to find the child's parents. The kidnappers heard the announcement and showed up to threaten the foster family, leading to their apprehension.
The child was discovered and rescued by a kindly woman who sought hospital care and informed the police.
Aftercare is being provided by Every Child Ministries Uganda in the form of medical and nutritional support, help for the foster family, child sponsorship, counseling, and more.
