Response & intervention
The Island Spa opened in late 2007 and has been monitored by Monroe Police since April 2008. Undercover officers were sent inside.
Only information known is that the authorities were trying to get the victims counseling. It is unknown whether or not the victim received counseling. As of 7/23, it was reported that "investigators have not heard from [the victims since they were released on bond] and they are worried that somebody might be trying to force them back into slavery."
