Nine Nigerian men were arrested for alleged human trafficking. The nine Nigerians had applied for asylum in South Africa although they did not qualify. The men took 12 woman with them all over the country and forced to them to prostitute themselves. The women were given drugs to keep them submissive and they were given R30 a day for food.

The men are now being charged under the Sexual Offences Act and for kidnapping. The case has been postponed until April 16 for a bail application.
I cannot be sure that aftercare was not given, BUT considering the fact the Sexual Offences Act only works to prosecute the criminals. It does nothing to protect or care for the victims. South Africa has no funding at the moment to deal with repatriation and victim assistance in the mean time. Chances are, the girls were sent back home with little to no care.
