Clerks at a Rio Grande City convenience store helped nab a suspected human trafficker. They called police after spotting a woman and 2-year-old who didn't seem to belong together. The woman claimed she was given the child and a birth certificate in Roma. (The Romani are also known as Gypsies.)

Directly after the arrest, police could not establish the boy's identity or citizenship so a local church was called to take the boy in until his mother could be located. The 2 year old boy's mother was finally located in Atlanta, Georgia.
