Mark Leroy Daley, 41, of Santa Rosa was being held in Sonoma County Jail on $280,000 bail on four counts each of pimping a minor, providing a child under age 16 for lewd acts and pandering, and one count of possessing methamphetamine. An associate of Daley, Emmanuel Alvarado Ayala, 35, who was employed as a cook in Santa Rosa, was arrested on suspicion of eight charges involving sex with underage girls. He was booked on $100,000 bail. Police said he would pay for motel rooms and be given access to the girls. Daley used implied threats and intimidation to control the girls. He was known to hang out in downtown Santa Rosa and has lived for several years in motels on Santa Rosa and Cleveland avenues, Police Sgt. Dave Hayes said. Daley was unemployed. Police believe he tried to recruit at-risk or runaway teen-age girls living on the streets, and that there were other potential victims in this case.
