The accused was charged in 1985 with molesting a teen-age girl. He operated Naked City near Roselawn, IN from 1968 to 1986. On March 24, 1986, he agreed to plea guilty to ten sex-related misdemeanors and was given a suspended sentence. He had previously pleaded guilty to obscenity charges in 1982 but according to John Casey, an attorney for Newton County. He later owned and operated a nudist colony, Naked City West, in southern CA. There, he was arrested in 1990 on five felony and four misdemeanor charges including procurring a minor by false inducement for lewd acts and procurement by false inducement for prostitution. In a plea bargain, 28 charges against him from years before were dropped and he pleaded guilty to distribution or exhibition of lewd materials to a minor. He was sentenced up to one year in Riverside County Jail and was to be on probation for five years, fined up to $5000 and have no contact with children or youth other than those whose parents gave permission for such contact, not be permitted to use pornographic materials, and be listed as a sex offender.
