What happened
Vanilla farmers in Madagascar force children to work the vanilla fields. Farmers often feel forced to employ their children and not pay them due to low prices or their not being paid by their buyers. In the past several years, vanilla prices have fallen from around $600/kilo to $20/kilo. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/africa/article7060962.ece http://humantrafficking.change.org/blog/view/vanillas_not-so-sweet_side
