Mei Fang Chen, 33 Xiu Zheng Chen, 32 facing two charges each of human trafficking, living off the avails of prostitutuion, exercising control, director of influence of a person for the purpose of prostitiution, and one each of keeping a common bawdy-house, and possesion of the proceeds of crime over $5000.00. Qui Wang, 41 faces two charges each of living off the avails of prosititution, exercise and control, direction or influence over a person for the purposes of prostitution, and one count of keeping a common bawdy house, possesion of the proceeds of crime over $5000.00 and assault with a weapon causing bodily harm. To appear in court September 21, 2009.

Response & intervention
Police obtained warrants after receiving a tip. There was a belief that these women were forced into sexual slavery or involuntary servitude. Assistants of RCMP and Canada Border Services Agentcy. City police exectued two warrants sept 5, one at the Spa the other at an apartment near 69th av. and 199 street, belonging to a person connected to the business. A man and women were arrecsted when leaving the business.
Three women were rescued from what is believed to be a a case of modern day slavery. Victims range in age from 21-41, one if believed to be from Beijing and two from Fiji. All are in a safehouse.
Relocated to a safehouse.
