Couple from Nigeria purchased the victim when she was 16 years old from her family in Nigeria promising a better life and education. She was forced to be a domestic slave and work outside the home to repay her debt bondage. There were incidents of violence against her and threats of violence against her siblings if she contacted authorities.

Response & intervention
FBI and Homeland Security investigated the case and discovered this victim.
She was rescued by the FBI and services were sought for her but she is classified as a domestic trafficking victim and there are no programs in the Houston area for domestic victims, only international. Redeemed Ministries was contacted to provide assistance.
She is receiving on-going GED training, financial planning, counseling and apartment placement and assistance.
