Demont Bowie of Wellman, IA was sentenced to 35 years in prison for kidnapping a 13-year-old Minneapolis girl and holding her in the basement of a house in Williamsburg, IA. He forced her to have sex with his friends and with other men as part of a prostitution ring that his father, Robert Sallis, operated. Bowie threatened that he would kill the girl and her family if she did not comply.
