Cotonou, Benin, Benin
A Nigerian ship called Etinero was contravened off on its way back to Cotonou after having been turned away at Libreville, Gabon and Douala, Cameroun. The ship was carrying slave children. Early reports showed that children were traveling with parents, but continued investigations by UNICEF showed that the alleged parents were in reality child traffickers. The older children believed they were going to work in legitimate jobs, the younger ones did not know where they were going, and all wanted to go home to their mothers.
