The Tangerang police arrested the suspects at a house in Vila Regensi Tangerang housing complex, Gebang Raya subdistrict, Tangerang municipality on January 14 and processed the case until the dossiers were handed down to Tangerang prosecutors office. Prosecutors then brought the case to be tried at the Tangerang District court. In the prosecution, Prosecutor Riyadi had asked the District court to sentence the six women to 12 years jail term for selling a three months old baby worth Rp 13 million to Dora in Golodok, West Jakarta. Dora would sell the baby to a man call Along in North Sumatra.

Indonesian and Malaysian police arrested four alleged members of a human trafficking syndicate following a joint two-month operation.(2006) A Malaysian businessman and three Indonesians were arrested for allegedly luring teenage girls from Jakarta to Malaysia through Borneo Island with the promise of jobs and then forcing them into the sex industry, The Jakarta Post reported. The group, who had been arrested earlier in the month, confessed to transporting 25 teens(girls, presumably).Achmad Rifai, head of the Jakarta city police women and children’s division, said the group, which was arrested earlier this month, had confessed to transporting 25 teenagers. This, they did by promising jobs in Jakarta as domestic workers to the victims, aged 14 to 17, but were then flown to West Kalimantan province on the Indonesian side of Borneo and taken across the border into Malaysia, sometimes using false travel documents.
