Recruited 8 Russian students from Voronozh to work in US under student work program. Each student borrowed $2,500 from their parents to make the trip. The students thought they had signed up for a student work program where they could earn $10,000 over the summer, instead forced to work 13 hour days at 87 cents an hour. All 8 shared two, one-bedroom apartments with a television and a mattress. Traffickers cut the students off from telephone and internet. The students' activities were monitored by the traffickers using GPS systems. A maintenance worker at Northland apartments worked with managers of Frosty Treats ice cream truck company and two Russian nationals.
