Anita eventually escaped from the brothel. She immediately found two police men who, after being paid, assisted her to the home of a Nepali boy she had met while in the brothel. She stayed with his family and later found out that Robert Mosier (IJM) had been contacted. After Mosier and the police raided the brothel, Anita led authorities through the building; giving specific information regarding her experiences.

The case was led by Robert Mosier of the International Justice Mission (IJM) who was tipped off by a Nepali boy who had come into contact the victim.
