Shanelle Nichole Carlson is a 22 year old, white woman who put up sexually explicit ads of a 15 year old girl on Craiglist. "Nikki," as she was referred to in ads, was in the custody of Carlson with the permission of her mother. After the latest ad was put on Craiglist showing "Nikki" in sex acts with two different "johns," Tigard police aprehended Carlson. Carlson had been staying with the minor at a Motel Six where they had been staying for a few days.

Law enforcement caught Carlson while looking up prostitution ads on Craigslist. She is currently being tried and the verdict is not out yet. Law enforcement has also been in communication with local news agencies on the story, including the Oregonian.
The trial on Carlson began today, Sept. 15, 2008. She is looking at 5 counts relating to child prostitution. She is facing two counts of compelling prostitution, three counts of using a child in a sexual display (what she posted on Craigslist). She faces a maximum of up to 70 months in jail per charge on the first 4 counts. The minor is now in the custody of family in Aberdeen, WA.
The the woman who was pimping the minor is being prosecuted and it is most likely that she is also receiving social services.
In a few news articles, it has been mentioned that the Polaris Project has been involved. It is most likely that they are giving the child support services.
