What happened

No information is know other than the 16 year old was forced to be a prostitute and dance in a club for 2 years

Response and intervention

The Chota authorities were contacted by Fono Mujer and they were able to find and rescue the girl. The incident was reported on the Fono Mujer, a help line for women experiencing violence.

The victim's case was unknown to the government, and unfortunately the only way that the victim was able to escape her situation was through death. After years of having been sexually explotiated, even while pregnant, the victim passed away without any record of her trafficker's actions or justice for what she endured.
