Quoted from the Imperial Valley News: "According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Tenorio, who is prosecuting the case with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, Black admitted that he recruited and enticed a juvenile to work as a prostitute for his financial benefit between August 15, 2007 and October 11, 2007. Black admitted that he took photographs of the juvenile wearing lingerie and in provocative poses that were then placed in ads posted on the “Craigslist” website to solicit dates. The dates, however, were prostitution “johns” who responded to the ads and made arrangements to have sex with the juvenile in exchange for payment. Black drove the juvenile to and from hotels, where she performed the prearranged acts of prostitution. Black further admitted that he received all of the proceeds the juvenile received in exchange for acts of prostitution. http://www.imperialvalleynews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3510&Itemid=1

Jeffrey Fisher was arrested for promoting prostitution, witness tampering and eluding police. He had met Stephanie, a 14 year old girl on an online chat room. They quickly started a sexual relationship. In July on 2006, she agreed to work as a prostitute. Though she pulled in nearly $500 a day working along the stretch of Aurora known to prostitutes and police as "the track", she said the money wasn't nearly enough for Fisher. He gambled away the money she earned, beat her if he was unhappy, called her names and followed her, demanding that she work harder. Within months the beatings worsened and escalated into death threats. She begged police to take her to jail so she could get away from Fisher. She went to Children of the Night in Los Angeles last February and stayed about 3 months - until she was desperate to see Fisher. In May, after returning to Aurora, she's finally had enough. She helped the Seattle Police Department Vice Unit go after Fisher. He was finally arrested after fleeing to California.

From 2000 to 2005 Jimmie Lee Jones, also known as “Mike Spade,” conspired to force six victims to engage in commercial sex acts. Jones knew that two of the victims were minors. He recruited young women at colleges, stores, events, and restaurants saying he represented a successful modeling and casting agency- called either Candy Girl Casting or Dime Piece Entertainment. An associate, names Michelle, a woman who had found modeling work would recruit victims as potential models. After the victims became comfortable around him, he told them it was necessary that they work in strip clubs as dancers, because they needed to be more comfortable with their bodies before they could be models. Five of the victims signed contracts stating they would pay him between $300 and $450 every week for 52 weeks. The contracts states that Jones would find them work modeling or in music videos. He also required that the women give him their social security number. Jones then became physically and verbally abusive. Under these threats, Jones forced the victims to travel, primarily to Florida, Alabama, and Indiana, to engage in prostitution.

Two girls, ages 15 and 14, came home from school as many teens do each day. They did homework, finished their chores and then asked a common request from their parents - the two girls wanted to walk to a nearby Wendy's Restaurant to grab a couple of frozen desserts. The restaurant was less than a mile from their homes, so their parents had no reason to deny the request. The two young girls, both good students and trusted by their parents, set off on their quest just before evening. On the way there, a car pulled up next to the girls and one of them thought she recognized the driver - Deric Willoughby - as the father of a classmate. The mistaken identity led her and her cousin to trust Willoughby enough to get into his car to allow him to drive them to the Wendy's. They were grateful for the ride. The ride, however, was the beginning of their captivity. Willoughby drove to his home, just a couple of miles across town from the teens' homes. He and his accomplices gave them new names (Ambrosia and Heavenly) and fitted them for skimpy outfits after telling them that they would be forced to have sex with men for money. Willoughby used his connections to arrange for a driver to pick up the teens and take them from Ohio and across state lines to truck stops in Michigan where the girls could easily be sold for an evening's entertainment. Both of the girls were forced to service multiple customers. The girls were kept at Willoughby's house during the day and pimped at night. One night, something happened that Willoughby wasn't expecting. One of the truck drivers called the police after being disgusted that such young girls were being offered to truckers at his stop. The call alerted the local sheriffs department which immediately responded. The entire crew was stopped and questioned, save for the 15-year-old, who was being raped in nearby truck. The 14-year-old gave officers a fake name and told them she was over 18. Something about her demeanor prompted sheriff's deputies to arrest her and send Willoughby and his crew packing. Information about this incident came from ABC News which did an in-depth report about this case in Ohio: http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/Story?id=5382645&page=1

The suspect was a 23 year old man who forced a 12 year old girl into prostitution. He met her thorugh a mutual friend on January 9th and invited her to hang out. Police said he had unprotected sex with her that night and several times over the next several days. When the girl failed to return home the night of the 9th, her family filed a missing persons report. During the five days, the two stayed at the homes of several women who described themselves as the suspect's fiances. She was ordered by the man to walk the streets of South King County to work as a prostitute and the man allegedly told her the exact price to charge for each sex act. She was also told not to tell her age to any customers. One of the suspect's "financees" became angry about the girl and called a phone number she found in a school binder that the girl had left at her home. The person who answered the phone turned out to be the 12 year old girl's sister. The "fiancee" told the sister where the missing girl was in downtown Seattle. Police said relatives found the girl Sunday night with the man in downtown Seattle. The relatives took the girl to Harborview Medical Center where a rape examination was performed and then went to the Seattle police department's West Precinct and notified police they had found her. After talking to the girl, the police found the suspect on a West Seattle street. According to detectives, the man's acquaintances say he has befriended other young girls, raping them as well as coercing them into prostitution.

Aboard a tourist boat on the Amazon River, in the State of Amazonas, Brazil, 2007

Brazil BR

A man from Georgia in the United States, was accused of trafficking young women/offering sex with underage girls to customers paying to go on his fishing tours of the Amazon basin. His ex-wife was president of the fishing operation. The boat was described as a high-end river cruiser popular with wealthy American fishers. The four Brazilian plaintiffs (one was aged 12 at time of exploitation) reported that the man used a combination of promises, alcohol, and drugs to lure them onto the fishing boat. Once aboard, they were coerced into performing sexual acts with the man and his customers. Brazilian prosecutors state that there is both photographic and video evidence including “numerous images of Brazilian women in sexual poses within the vessels and in the company of foreign tourists.” It is described that the man used his agents and employees to recruit customers in the US to engage in such ‘sex tourism’. Court documents from Brazil and the US suggest that customers included members of a group that are currently under investigation for human trafficking, prostitution and child sex tourism. The man from Georgia sent his employees into the local community, and nightclubs along the Amazon to recruit young girls. In return, they were reported to have been paid a ‘modest’ sum of money. One report states: “The case is noteworthy because it is the first time that the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) will be used by alleged victims of trafficking to seek damages from a sex tour operation.” An example of the court transcript can be viewed here: http://sandyfrost.newsvine.com/_news/2011/04/30/6562102-brazil-prosecutes-schair-co-for-running-house-of-prostitution A YouTube newscast showing the girls being interviewed, as well as footage of the boat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aENcxcxC2gk&feature=player_embedded
