The trafficker recruited the women from 2008 to 2010 and sent them to New Zealand and Italy because these countries do not prohibit prostitution. He reportedly collected illegal profits of about 130 million won (approximately 130,000 USD) from them. The trafficker forced the women to undergo breast augmentation surgery. The victims were forced to change their name because they would be denied entry into the countries with a record of prostitution.

The defendant also took live videos of the women and girls engaging in pole-dancing in his St. Albans residence, which could then be accessed online for a fee paid by customers.

Harrison, 32, who worked for Newham council under the name Charles Pepple, was today convicted by Woolwich crown court of conspiracy to traffick people for sexual exploitation, conspiracy to breach immigration law and false imprisonment. He received 20 years incarceration. The case is the first where children were illegally brought to the UK to be shipped off to work in the sex industries of Spain and Greece. After "grooming", the girls were sent to Britain on false documents and into the hands of Harrison. Harrison imprisoned both girls - aged 14 and 16 - at his home in Stratford, in 2009, before attempting to traffic them to Spain and Greece as prostitutes. The two had been controlled by Juju magic rituals. One of the girls was gagged and bound in Harrison's bathroom. The case is thought to be the first of its kind in Europe to involve a prosecution linked to such a practice. Both girls came from small villages in Edo, Nigeria, and were sold into prostitution with the help of the local Juju priest. Juju is a significant part of West African culture. Police said Harrison was a key player in a sophisticated network of West African people traffickers operating in the UK. After Harrison was convicted, the prosecution told the court: "This has been something of a unique case and ground-breaking. It's the first time there has been a prosecution for trafficking out of the UK.

Eric Antwan Bell (37,Tampa) was indicted September 29, 2011 by a grand jury. The indictment charges Bell with four counts of conspiracy to entice a minor to engage in a commercial sex act, four counts of enticing a minor to engage in a commercial sex act, three counts of production of child pornography, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. According to the indictment, Bell, along with a co-conspirator, enticed four minor victims to engage in prostitution. Bell and his co-conspirator lived off of the prostitution proceeds. Bell produced child pornography of the four minors and possessed multiple firearms after being convicted of a felony offense. One of his victims, a 15 year old, told Bell, who identified himself as “Santana”, she was 15. Bell raped her as soon as he got her to his home in the Highland Pines neighborhood near U.S. 41 and Interstate 4, court documents say. He also made her undress, took pictures of her and uploaded them onto Internet sites, advertising her as an escort, according to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Tampa in January. For the next three weeks, "Santana" raped her daily, videotaped her sexual encounters with adult men and threatened to kill her if she told anyone, the girl told detectives. According to the complaint, she charged about $150 per "date," performed 15 to 20 "tricks" a day and estimated that she handed over $40,000 to $50,000 to the man during the time she lived with him. The girl who told investigators that Bell often wore a gun in his waistband. She said Bell sold oxycodone and marijuana from the home. Authorities did not provide details about how the girl eventually got away from Bell. Investigators serving a search warrant at Bell's home found firearms, ammunition, body armor, and cameras and computers containing pornographic images of the victims, the complaint said.

Information translated using googletranslate.com: 23 workers were rescued from a tobacco farm/plantation where they worked ‘on similar terms to the slave’. 11 of the rescued workers were between the ages of 12-16. The workers were made to apply pesticides to the tobacco crop in bare feet/flip-flops, and without protective equipment. The International Labor Organization (ILO) states that such work can result in cancer and other fatal degenerative diseases – it is expressly forbidden for children under 18 years of age. There was no appropriate place for the chemicals to be stored or prepared for use. There were also no washing facilities for those who had come into contact with the chemicals. The workers had not studied, and did not have access to the ‘Pesticide Risk Management for Workers’. The adults and children were transported to work at approx. 6am each day in a ‘bucket’ that was attached to the rear of a tractor. They then worked for 19 hours at the farm. It was reported that there was one bathroom, and that they shared drinking water from the same glass. The pesticides, water and food for workers were all being transported in the same buckets. The adults were not registered, and therefore not protected by social security. They had not received any medical benefits, and had been denied rights such as paid weekly rest, adequate salary. Some of the workers were reported to have been working approx. 26 days, and other 3 or 4 days.

"The three unmarked police cars ahead of us pulled up in front of the brothel, and the police and prosecutor ran in. Somaly and I followed and watched as police with assault rifles confiscated cellphones from the brothel manager, a middle-aged woman, and her male partner, so that they couldn’t call for reinforcements. We quickly found five girls and one young woman, three Cambodians and three Vietnamese. The youngest turned out to be a seventh grader trafficked from Vietnam three months earlier, making her about 12 years old. The anti-trafficking police found 10 rooms equipped with beds and full of discarded condoms in the trash; the rooms all locked with padlocks from the outside, presumably to incarcerate girls inside. Several other young girls Somaly had photographed in her earlier visit couldn’t be found, despite a frantic search of all the locked rooms. 'They’re probably kept at another house in town, but we don’t know where it is,' Somaly said." --http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/13/opinion/sunday/kristof-fighting-back-one-brothel-raid-at-a-time.html
