Local police were first alerted when the second girl escaped, and then the FBI took over the investigation. Brown and Beacham were arrested and tried. Brown was sentenced on Nov. 29, 2010 to 30 years in prison, followed by a 10-year term of supervised release, as a result of his conviction at trial for charges of sex trafficking of children. Brown was also ordered to pay $5,200 in restitution. Beacham pled guilty to felony charges in April and details of her sentencing have not yet been resolved.

The Police received a tip in 2004 for a brothel. In response they sent a undercover officer who found a prostitute however she was willing, but later this incident revealed a sex-trafficking ring. One night 2 prostitutes were seen running from a trailer associated with this brothel. The police then arrested the man who had been keeping them in there and through thi they found out about the ringleader. After this, they had a undercover agent arrange to rescue one of the girls. Through questioning the rescued victim, they found out the ringleaders general route and pulled resources together and arrested him.

Ishwarlai Kalidas Patel, 72, one of three managers at the Thrift Travel Inn,was indicted by a grand jury on prostitution, human trafficking and conspiracy charges after allegedly arranging sexual services for an undercover police officer. Ramanbhai Patel, 59, and Dakshaben Patel, 55, were also charged but have not yet been indicted. The State Attorney commented "They're profiting financially from arranging appointments between individuals for the purposes of prostotution and/or demanding compensation from the (women.)"

The trafficker (Dann) arranged for the victim (Peña Canal) to travel from her native Peru to the United States in 2006 (initial contact and promises made in 2002) and enter under a fraudulently-obtained visa to serve as a nanny and housekeeper. Dann was going through a divorce at the time, was unemployed, and was not receiving child support. Once Peña Canal arrived, Dann kept her passport, forbade her from speaking with anyone outside the home, and failed to pay her for two years, although she often promised that she would. She repeatedly threatened to send Peña Canal back to Peru; and yet when Peña Canal agreed to go home, Dann told her that she would owe her $8,000 because she had only worked off $7,000 of the $15,000 worth of “expenses” that Dann had paid on her behalf. Dann eventually asked Peña Canal to sign a false statement that she had been paid minimum wage. Dann never returned Peña Canal’s passport or Peruvian identification. A police officer testified that he went to the apartment on Peña Canal’s behalf to ask for these papers. Dann was not present but called him back later. She denied having any documents, denied knowing what he was talking about, and denied having any property that belonged to PeñaCanal. In June of 2008, ICE agents searched Dann’s apartment. They found Peña Canal’s passport, her Peruvian identification card, and checks for a bank account in her name, along with the agreement that Dann had forced her to sign about minimum wage, all buried under clothing in a drawer in Dann’s room.

Timothy Richardson and Robert Hendricks pleaded guilty in mid August to traffickign two owmen in their 20's for commercial sex beginning in November when Hendricks met the victims in Lake Tahoe. Hendricks forced the women into acts of prostitution over the next several weeks. He then sold htem to Richardson. The women were often separated and beaten and one womans life was threatened. At some point one of them managed to reach a relative who called the Santa Clara Police.

He was sentenced to 20 years in prison and must register as a sex offender. Johnathan Terry, of Miami, apparently met the 14-year-old in 2008 and began having sex with her, according to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office. Terry later manipulated the girl into various acts of prostitution in Fulton and DeKalb counties, according to the prosecution. In January 2009, the victim and another 14-year-old girl ran away from school and met Terry, who then pimped them out to several men and kept the money. The girls told police about the incident in May 2009, the DA's office said. Terry was arrested on May 26, 2009, after he tried to meet a police decoy, whom Terry believed to be a 16-year-old girl. Shortly after a jury was seated Tuesday, Johnathan Terry pleaded guilty to various sex crimes, including child molestation, statutory rape, pimping, pandering, enticing a child for indecent purposes and felony reckless conduct. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Henry Newkirk sentenced Terry to 20 years in prison, according to the DA's office.

She was seen on security video at the Comfort Suites hotel in Sanford, along with a man who police believe is McNeill, last Tuesday morning.
